Stands are hung!

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

Well, this past weekend Shaun and I went out and hung a few treestands as well as scouting out some possible additional land. While hanging stands, we had a few close encounters with turkey and yotes. In fact, one of the yotes got about 25-30 yards from us and just stood there and looked at us. Only if we had a weapon! So stands are hung, mock scrapes are down, and trail cams are out. We are set. Now its just a waiting game to see what we have among us this year!

Shooting Groups

Monday, July 20th, 2009

Here are some quick pics of some of my latest target practice sessions.
I just had to remind myself why I don’t usually shoot groups!!!

This practice session was at a 30 yard range. I kept the arrows together and then stuck them into a target at home to get pictures of them. This was my first and second ever robbin hood. I usually don’t try to shoot groups because I shave fletching off arrows when I do. Shooting spots seems to save some money with arrow cost.

The site isn’t the only thing being updated!

Last weekend the team headed over to Cabela’s for some mid-summer shopping. After the initial shock that all hunters get when entering Cabela’s, we remembered why we were there. We had our eyes set on adding a new weapon to the arsenal. 4 bows, 6 adjustments, and countless shots later the decision was made. Brian held the 2009 PSE Stinger. The team, equipped and ready for the year coming, headed to the cashier. It was then when we all knew that this season was going to be an extraordinary one.
